BBM for Android and iOS scheduled to launch sometime today

BBM for Android released

After years of waiting (along with an additional month-long delay), users of Android and iOS devices will finally be able to begin using and enjoying BBM on their favorite platform! Originally scheduled to launch exactly one month ago, cross-platform BBM is making its way to the Google Play Store and iTunes later today, but you may not be able to actually use it today if you didn’t take the time to sign up at BBM.com.

How to setup BBM for Android and iOS:

The first thing you’ll need to do is make sure that you’re downloading the real application. The application is rolling out in stages, so it may take a while before it shows up for you. Also, keep in mind that the Google Play Store is littered with fake versions of BBM for Android. So play it safe and ensure that you’re getting the real thing by heading over to BBM.com using your Android or iPhone browser.

Once downloaded and installed onto your device, you will need to create a BlackBerry ID if you don’t already have one. That isn’t hard to accomplish though, it just involves entering an email address and some information about yourself. Once you have that taken care of, BlackBerry will add you to the waiting list and you’ll receive an email as soon as you’re able to begin using the app. Keep in mind, if you’re one of the millions of people that signed up for updates at BBM.com, you’re spot in line was already resevered and you’ll be able to begin using the app immediately.

So how many of you are planning on using BBM for Android now that it is finally available?
