Garmin Announces New Approach S3 GPS golf watch

Garmin has announced their latest GPS enabled Golfer’s watch, the Approach S3 builds on the GPS technology found in previous models and provides users with even more new and innovative features. The rugged and waterproof watch comes preloaded with over 27,000 courses from around the world, all of which are available without a subscription or any fees, also users will be able to download new courses and updates for free as they are made available. The Approach S3 also introduces a high-resolution touchscreen display that is easy to read in any lighting condition, including direct sunlight and can be used while wearing gloves.

The Approach S3 golf watch uses GPS technology to give users the exact distances to the front, back and center of the green. All of this information helps players plan their next swing.  The S3 also allows players to input and save customizable yardage points,  like water hazards or bunkers from anywhere on the course.  Another interesting feature of the Approach S3 is what Garmin calls Green View, which allows users to view the true shape and layout of greens so even if you have an obstructed view of the hole, you’ll know where to aim. Plus with manual pin positioning you can touch and drag the pin to the day’s location. Another new feature introduced with the S3 is digital scorecard for individual players. Scoring options include Stroke play and Stableford, players will be able to review, save and print scorecards from their home computer.

The S3 is available in two styles and it functions as a everyday watch, it has all of the standard watch features you would expect and even includes an odometer so you can keep track of how far you walk each day. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that should last 4 weeks while in watch mode and 8 hours while using GPS.
