Garmin’s New nüvi 2798LMT Automotive GPS Unit comes with a Backup Camera
Garmin has introduced the all new nüvi 2798LMT, which features all of the things you’d expect to find on a Garmin automotive navigation unit in a 7-inch form-factor and with a wireless backup camera that allows drivers to easily spot cars, pedestrians and other obstructions as they are backing up their vehicle.
Garmin’s nüvi 2798LMT comes with a bright 7 inch display and includes all of the latest automotive navigation innovations from Garmin, such as Voice activated navigation, 3D maps, Active Lane Guidance with voice prompts, free lifetime traffic information and maps updates, as well as Garmin Real Directions. It is everything you’d expect to be getting from a nüvi, but it also includes a wireless backup camera which is rugged enough to be mounted on the outside of your vehicle and can withstand being exposed to the weather.
Garmin is recommending that the camera be installed by professionals only. When installed, the camera can be wired directly to the reverse lights for power, thus allowing the camera to automatically power on and display the live camera feed whenever the vehicle has been placed into reverse and turned off once the car has been shifted into a forward gear. Users may also chose to have the camera powered on whenever the vehicle’s engine is running and can easily toggle between the video feed and navigation mode with the press of a button.
We don’t have a firm release date for the Garmin nüvi 2798LMT yet, but it is expected to arrive sometime in February 2014 and its suggested retail price has been set at $399.99. You can learn more about the Garmin nüvi 2798LMT at the source link below.
