HTC DROID DNA now available from Verizon Wireless for $199
Verizon’s latest and greatest DROID Smartphone, the HTC DROID DNA, is now available for purchase from Verizon Wireless retail locations and online.
The HTC DROID DNA includes a bunch of impressive specs. For starers, this is the first smartphone to have a 1080p display. The display itself is 5-inches when measured diagonally, that means the DROID DNA’s display has a pixel density of 440 pixels per inch (ppi). For comparison, Apple’s retina display packs in 326 ppi, and my BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha, while closer to the DNA, still falls short with only 356 ppi. Its safe to say that the DROID DNA will have one of, if not the best looking displays ever put on a smartphone.
The rest of the DROID DNA is pretty impressive as well. It is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, and includes 2GB worth of RAM. There is a 8MP rear camera that can snap photos while you capture full HD video, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera for video chat. Other hardware features include Verizon 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2020mAh battery and 16GB worth of internal storage. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot for expanding storage. On the software side of things, you’ll find Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and this being an HTC device, you’ll also get HTC’s Sense 4 UI and Beats Audio technology.
The HTC DROID DNA will retail for $199.99 with a new two-year agreement, and can be purchased from Verizon Wireless retail locations and Verizon’s website as of today.
