Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 set to launch on November 16th for $649
After a slight delay, Lenovo has confirmed the new release date for their ThinkPad Tablet 2. Lenovo was originally expected to launch the Windows 8 packin, ThinkPad Tablet 2 on October 26th, the same day as the official launch of Windows 8. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. Instead, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 will launch on November 16th and will retail for $649 from Lenovo’s website.
Key hardware specs of the Lenovo ThinkPad 2 include a 1,366 x 768 IPS touchscreen display, an Intel Atom processor, 8MP rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing camera, micro-HDMI output, NFC and a battery that’s good for 10 hours of life per charge. The ThinkPad Tablet 2 is 9.8 mm thin and weights in at less than 1.3 pounds.
There will also be an optional Keyboard dock available that features three USB ports, HDMI port and Ethernet jack. The optional ThinkPad Tablet 2 keyboard dock can be paired with the tablet to create a more PC-like computing experience. With the included full-size USB and HDMI ports, users can attach and use existing devices like a keyboard and mouse, printers and external monitors.
