The Nokia Lumia 521 hits Walmart and Microsoft stores this Saturday, T-Mobile on May 22nd

Nokia Lumia 521

T-Mobile just sent us more pricing and availability information for the Nokia Lumia 521, a Windows Phone 8 powered smartphone that is ultra-affordable and exclusive to T-Mobile.

The Nokia Lumia 521 made its debut at HSN and a couple of weeks ago. It ended up selling out at both places soon after it launched and it has been hard to find one every since. I know because I am actually trying to purchase one for myself. Well, that shouldn’t be a problem for much longer, as the phone is about to make its way to a few more retail locations in the near future.

T-Mobile will Begin offering the Nokia Lumia 521 at and T-Mobile retail locations starting on May 22nd. T-Mobile is offering the Lumia 521 on its new Simple Choice Plan for $29.99 down and 24 monthly payments of $5. That makes the total price you’ll pay for the device $150.

The Nokia Lumia 521 release date is set at May 11th for both Microsoft Retail Stores and for brick and mortar Walmart locations. The pricing varies slightly though. Microsoft will be charging $150 for the Lumia 521, while Walmart will be selling the phone for just $129.88. Keep in mind, both of those prices are full-retail, meaning no subsidy or contract involved.

Despite being ultra-affordable, the Lumia 521 still manages to offer some nice features. It has a super sensitive 4″ touch screen, fast 4G connectivity, and a 5MP rear camera that features auto focus and 720p HD video recording. For software, the Lumia 521 runs Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system and it will ship with several exclusive Nokia applications pre-installed (Nokia Music, Cinemagraph, Creative Studio, Panorama, Smart Shoot and HERE Drive, Maps and Transit). Not bad at all for such an affordable smartphone.
