Raspbian OS released for the Rapsberry Pi

The Raspberry Pi has received a performance boosting software update. The latest OS is the first to be based on the Raspbian distribution and is optimized specifically for the Raspberry Pi. The new software features better support for floating point operations, which results in better performance for tasks like web browsing. Raspian also contains performance improvements to the firmware, kernel and applications.

Raspbian has replaced Debian Squeeze as the recommend SD card image for general users and is available for download right now.
