Sharp Aquos Crystal, Phone with Edgeless Display Released for Sprint
Well after all of the countless concepts over the years we finally have something come to fruition. Sharp, with their first smartphone release to the US in a while has brought us a device with an amazing and truly edge to edge design. Before now we’ve only really had the LG G2 and G3 give us what was close to a bezel-less design so its good to see a device that truly embraces that. The Aquos Crystal comes packing what are some relatively moderate and specs though. It features a 5 inch LCD panel at 720p resolution along with a quad core Snapdragon 400 processor. To round out the specs it has 8 GB of built in storage (expandable via micro-SD card slot up to 128GB) and 1.5 GB of Ram with a 1.2 Megapixel camera on the front and an 8 Megapixel camera with flash on the rear.
The design is very interesting with how things are placed. For starters the speaker and front facing camera are found on the bottom part of the device as the screen extends all the way to the top. Making calls on this thing should be intriguing, but Sharp has got you covered with what they are calling a Direct Wave receiver which should transmit sound throughout the device and hear from many different angles. Speaking of sound, it is powered by some Harmon-Kardon audio with built in enhancements.
The device is set to launch exclusively on Sprint soon so it might not be too long before you can get your hands on this compelling device. What do you think of the design of the phone? Be sure to let us know!
