The Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now free with new contract

Best Buy has lowered the on contract price of the Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Nexus to absolutely free. The new price comes after Verizon dropped their price down to $99.99 last week and makes the Galaxy Nexus the best smartphone deal available on Verizon.

The Verizon Wireless version of the Galaxy Nexus is still running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but we expect it to eventually get an offical update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean like the GSM Galaxy Nexus has. The Galaxy Nexus features a 4.65 inch SuperAMOLED+ display with a resolution of 1280×720, a 1.2GHz dual core TI OMAP processor, 1GB of ram, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU chip set and Verizon’s 4G LTE network. The device also includes a rear facing 5 megapixel camera that can record 1080P HD videos and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera that takes video in 720P HD.
