Verizon makes the Pantech Perception official, available starting April 25th for as low as $99
Verizon Wireless has officially announced the pricing details and release date for the Pantech Perception, a Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) powered smartphone that is global ready and features a high-definition, Super AMOLED display.
We first started hearing rumors about the Verizon Wireless Pantech Perception earlier this month and it recently made an appearance at the FCC. So seeing the official announcement from Verizon this morning wasn’t all that surprising.
The mid-range priced, Pantech Perception features a seemingly high-end, 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display. That is a pretty interesting display choice for a affordable Android smartphone. Other specs include 16GB worth of internal storage, a 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and Verizon Wireless 4G LTE connectivity.
On the software side of things, the Verizon Wireless Pantech Perception ships with Ice Cream Sandwich (they say a Jelly Bean upgrade is “coming soon”), and a feature called Motion Sense, which will allow you to interact with certain applications on your phone just by waving your hand in front of it.
The release date for the Pantech Perception is set for April 25th. On that day, you’ll be able to purchase the perception in Verizon Wireless retail locations or online at www.verizonwireless.com. As was mentioned above, the Pantech Perception’s price is quite affordable – Just $99.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate and new two-year customer agreement.
