Verizon Wireless 4G LTE coming to Muncie and Anderson, Indiana on July 19!

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Muncie IN

Verizon Wireless has just announced that they will be bringing their 4G LTE network to my hometown of Muncie, Indiana (and nearby Anderson) on July 19th! That is a little more than a week from now!

I know this news doesn’t affect the majority of those that will be reading this and many of you may not care, but I am really excited about this. I have had the chance to experience the benefits of Verizon’s 4G LTE network while traveling and cannot wait to be able to use it full time.

The new expansion will cover most of Delaware and Madison counties. That includes the cities of Muncie, Anderson, Yorktown, Daleville, Gaston, Pendleton and Elwood. Customers in the newly expanded coverage areas will be able to use a variety of 4G LTE devices such as Smartphones, Tablets and Jetpacks to enjoy incredibly fast internet speeds. The expansion will also provide residents with a new option for in-home, high-speed internet service via Verizon’s HomeFusion Broadband.

To be honest, I am a little surprised that Verizon is launching their 4G LTE network in my area this soon. I didn’t expect to get it until sometime next year at the earliest. It goes to show just how fast Verizon is working on expanding its 4G LTE network, which is now available to more than two-thirds of the U.S. population in 304 markets across the country.

So who else from East Central Indiana is excited about this news? Read on for Verizon’s full press release.

MUNCIE, Ind.—Verizon Wireless today announced it is bringing the nation’s largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to Muncie and Anderson, Ind., on July 19. With the 4G LTE network, customers can use 4G LTE wireless devices to access the Internet faster, listen to music or watch video, take advantage of thousands of applications, and stay in touch with family and friends, all with speeds up to 10 times faster.

“People across Indiana are increasingly relying on tablets, smartphones and apps to stay organized, connected and entertained,” said John Granby, president–Indiana/Kentucky/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. “Our investment in Indiana has kept us ahead of these consumer trends and underscores our belief that 4G LTE delivers the best value to customers by maximizing the performance of their wireless devices.”

Most of Delaware County will be covered including Muncie, Yorktown and areas along Interstate 69 from Daleville through Gaston as well as the U.S. 35/Muncie Bypass. Most of Madison County will be covered including Anderson, Pendleton, Elwood as well as Interstate 69 and Ind. 9.

Residents in the newly expanded 4G LTE coverage areas in Delaware and Madison counties will also have access to HomeFusion Broadband, a new in-home, high-speed Internet service for consumers who want residential broadband with reliable data connectivity.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is now available to more than two-thirds of the U.S. population in 304 markets across the country and offers more than six times the geographic coverage of its nearest competitor’s 4G LTE network. Verizon Wireless customers looking to experience the nation’s fastest 4G network can choose from a variety of 4G LTE devices, including tablets, smartphones, Jetpacks and more.

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
