Verizon Wireless Enhances 4G LTE Coverage in Muncie, Indiana

Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless has announced the activation of a new cell site in my home town of Muncie, Indiana. Verizon first launched their 4G LTE network in Muncie, IN back in July of last year, and this week’s expansion will improve 4G LTE coverage on the northern part of the city.

I know this news wont effect the vast majority of you, but it is great news for me. Especially since the new cell site promises to improve Verizon’s 4G LTE network in the areas that I live, commute and work in. More information about the new cell site, and the area it will improve can be found in Verizon’s full press release below.

4G LTE Coverage Enhances Coverage on the North Side of Muncie

MUNCIE, Ind.—Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Muncie that improves 4G LTE coverage on the north side of the city.

The new site will improve coverage as far north as West CR 850 North, south to West CR 400 North, as far west as North CR 600 West, and east to State Road 3.

The new site enables more customers to take advantage of 4G LTE speeds—which are up to 10 times faster than 3G—to download a movie at the airport in minutes versus hours or video chat with loved ones while out of town, for example.

All across Indiana, Verizon has spent more than $1.2 billion since the company was formed in 2000 to build up its network infrastructure for Hoosier homes and businesses.

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network reaches 273.5 million people across the country – close to 89 percent of the U.S. population – and is now available in 480 cities.
